Let it be clearly understood that the World-Wide Accreditation Commission (WWAC) of Christian Educational Institutions; New Life Christian Schools and Colleges International; International Commission on Academic Accreditation (ICAA); International Association of Bible Colleges and Seminaries (IABCS); the National Christian Counselors Association (NCCA); and the National Association of Private Theological Institutions (NAPTI) do not and are not seeking recognition by the US Department of Education. Government-recognized accreditation is not necessary for the religious vocations we are training people in such as Biblical Studies, Christian Theology, Pastoral and Christian Counseling, Church Administration and Leadership, Christian Apologetics, and Congregational Ministry. Individuals may function in these areas without government-recognized accreditation.
Those seeking employment in government-licensed positions such as public school teachers, public school administrators, non-church related counselors, state-licensed psychologists or psychiatrists, definitely need government-recognized accredited degrees. In addition, some private or parochial institutions may require government-recognized accredited degrees.
